Kedarkantha top 12,500ft view 

Kedarkantha is tourism trekking site located in the devbhumi, uttarakhand at the altitude of 12,500ft(3,800mtrs). It is quite special for everyone as it has  the stunning views and provide a glance of entire mountains capes apart from this the most valuable thing is, it's sunrise and sunset that attract tourist. This gives a great opportunities to explore the nature and the the remote villages (traditions & cultures) of the himalayas.Availability of snow till the end of April make it one of the best winter trek. 

Thought kedar kantha trek can be conducted almost the whole year but the aspiring views that it provides in the winter months from December to April cannot be compared with the summer time. The snow clapped trekking trails and the buckets of snow at the base of pine trees are a fascinating beauty to savor and which remains only available during the winter days. Infact for the local the winter months are a time to rejoice and they enjoy with number of festivals during this time

BRIEF ITINERARY:

DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT SANKRI

HOLY DOMESHWAR MAHADEV TEMPLE IN SANKRI

Altitude: 6,400 ft.

220 km drive – approx 10 hrs

Trekkers will be picked from Dehradun in morning.

Sankri is a micro market of uttarkashi district, situated at the altitude of 6400 ft. Sankri serves as a base camp to several of the best Himalayan treks ranging from easy to difficult.

DAY 2: SANKRI TO JUDA KA TALAB

JUDA KA TALAB

Altitude: 6,400 ft. to 9,100 ft.

4 kms trek, approx 5 hrs

The campsite juda ka talab is huge nature made pond surrounded by fauna, which froze in winter that make opportunity of skiing. 

DAY 3: JUDA KA TALAB TO

KEDARKANTHA BASECAMP

KEDARKANTHA BASE CAMP

Altitude: 9,100 ft. to 11,250 ft.

4 kms trek, approx 4 hrs

Most of today’s trail is on a ridge, under oak trees

You will also pass through some meadows where you can spot shepherd log huts. Kedarkantha base camp provides the base of mountains, where you are fully surrounded by the mountains. It really feel pleasure inside with nature.

DAY 4: KEDARKANTHA BASECAMP TO KEDARKANTHA TOP; DECENT TO HARGAON

KEDARKANTHA TOP 12,500FT. VIEWS

Altitude: 11,250ft - 12,500ft, 6 km trek

This day is climax day of the trek with the sunrise at sharp 5 a.m. Many mountains ranges can be seen from here as the cap of mountains.

Peaks :- Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Black peak, Kala Nag, Khimloga, Ranglana, Rupin& supin pass, Baraadsar, Vishkhopri range etc.

Spend some time at the summit  and descend down to Hargaon camp for night camping.

HARGAON CAMP

DAY 5: HARGAON TO SANKRI

SANKRI VALLEY TRADITIONS VILLAGE

Altitude: 8,900ft. to 6,400ft.

6 km trek, approx 4hrs.

Today decend down 2500ft. through the dense pine forest to sankri. The night stay will be arranged at Swarg Rohini hotel. 

DAY 5: RETURN DAY

(SANKRI TO DEHRADUN)

KEMPTY FALL, MUSSOORIE

Distance: 220 km drive,

 approx 10 hours.

This will be the last and departure day of yours. In morning you will be dropped at Dehradun station in a Tata Sumo or a similar vehicle.

HOW TO REACH DEHRADUN :

◆ By Air :-

Jolly Grant Airport is the airport serving Dehradun, located about 25 km from the city. There is a daily flight from Delhi to Dehradun

◆ By Train :-

Take the overnight train to Dehradun from Delhi 

I) Nandadevi Express

 Departure -11:30 pm. Reached Dehradun 5:45 am.

II) Dehradun Express 

Departure -9:10 pm. Reached Dehradun 5:00 am.

◆ By Bus:- 

There is regular bus service from Delhi to Dehradun, from Delhi ISBT Kashmere Gate.
